Both provide early intervention care for autistic children below the age of 9 for the low-income households further in ease their transition and assimilation into mainstream primary schools. The overall floor layout is symmetrical to create a sense of similarity and make it easier to navigate when walking throughout the building. Long corridor design is avoided, and the adjacent made the area easy to walk through, with each room are close to each other within the same floor level. The interior finishes are fitted out with the different choice of materials, for example, tempered glass, acrylic and polycarbonate to create a sense of openness in the interior. Besides that, lighting plays an important aspect where adjustable dimmable light is applied to customise their moods. The choice of colour is muted down tones with no complicated patterns and no highly reflective surfaces. In addition, the adaptive reuse of the existing building underpins the sustainability credentials of this project.
